MEDIA ADVISORY: SECOND ANNUAL KENTUCKIANS VALUE FAIRNESS RALLY SET FOR FEBRUARY 21 IN FRANKFORT
Frankfort --- The Kentucky Fairness Alliance and Louisville's Fairness Campaign will co-host the Second Annual Kentuckians Value Fairness rally for a fair Kentucky on February 21. The two organizations are mobilizing fair-minded Kentuckians from all over the Commonwealth, to advocate for policies that support fairness for all Kentucky families. A screening of the award-winning documentary "For the Bible Tells Me So" will follow the rally.
WHAT: Second Annual Kentuckians Value Fairness rally
WHO: The Kentucky Fairness Alliance, the Fairness Campaign, and allied organizations
WHEN: February 21, 2008, 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
WHERE: Capitol Rotunda, Frankfort
STATEMENT: "Kentuckians Value Fairness is a chance for Kentuckians to speak out against the anti-fairness extremism that has infected Frankfort. Efforts like the proposed ban on domestic partner benefits at state agencies hurt Kentucky's economy, and leave real Kentucky families out in the cold." The Ampersand symbolizes the solidarity we are building through Friends & Family, and suggests the inclusiveness we are working toward. It reflects the idea that no one individual, legislator, organization, or city can carry all the water for equality. Our success lies in our solidarity.
