2008 Election Overview: Yes we can!

The Obama/Biden administration holds the promise of sweeping policy change on GLBT civil rights issues. We look forward to working with our allies in Washington to strengthen hate crimes laws, pass the employment non-discrimination act (ENDA) and bring an end to Don't Ask Don't Tell. Change being promised, we expect to see out GLBT professionals appointed to high level positions in the new administration. Check out Chuck Wolfe's address to the Obama-Biden transition team.

Obama/Biden inauguration festivities will include a GLBT Ball - Out for Equality - to be held Tuesday, January 20, 7PM-Midnight at the Mayflower Hotel in DC. Entertainment and appearances by Melissa Etheridge, Cyndi Lauper, Rufus Wainwright, Thelma Houston, and others to be announced. Tickets are $350 (before 12/16) and include an open bar and cocktail buffet.

At the state level, FAIRPAC supported candidates had a 50% win rate. In this our first election cycle, FAIRPAC supported four candidates: Democrats and Republicans, challengers and incumbents. All are critical to KFA's growing strength and aim to work across party lines in the General Assembly.
