National Organizations Invest in Kentucky Leaders

Since the 1960s, Kentucky has been a leader across the South in the fairness fight. We were the first state in the South to enact legislation to enforce civil rights violations. Today, Kentucky is still in the game and the stakes have never been higher for us to strengthen our efforts and serve as examples for others in the fair-minded fairness community to champion our cause.

We’re proud to share with you that several of our leaders are doing just that! KFA leaders are heading back to class with Harvard Business School Publishing.

Last year, the Movement Advancement Project (MAP), a national LGBT think-tank, began researching how funders could better support rising leaders among the LGBT community. They soon found the Harvard ManageMentor program.

MAP is now offering this program to members of KFA's Board and staff.

They will have a year to complete up to 21 courses via web seminars and be eligible to receive “Management Certificates” in various tracks from MAP and Harvard Business School Publishing. One exciting addition being made available to the LGBT participants is a function called Harvard ManageMentor Café. This is a resource that our participants will be able to use to invite in non-participants for abbreviated development sessions around topics covered in the program.

The topics our team looks forward to participating in include capitalizing on change, implementing innovation, and team management.
