Yesterday the University of Kentucky's Board of Trustees voted to enact a new employee benefits package that includes health insurance for all couples regardless of marital status. Between that and the Fletcher administration's threats to try and ban fair healthcare in a special legislative session, we've had another big news day at KFA.

Check this out from today's Courier-Journal:
The Fletcher administration may include the issue of domestic partner benefits for gays and lesbians working for state government in the call for a special legislative session. Robbie Rudolph, who is running for lieutenant governor on a ticket with Gov. Ernie Fletcher, said the administration talked about it yesterday. Meanwhile, the University of Kentucky marches forward toward a fair workplace (via Lexington Herald-Leader):
By a 4-0 vote Tuesday morning, the UK Board of Trustees’ human resources committee approved a major benefits package that includes domestic-partner benefits and other significant additions, including two on-campus child-care centers and expanded opportunities for employee training and education for spouses, partners and children. Naturally the anti-fairness industry is hailing this development and mobilizing to deny fair healthcare to unmarried Kentucky couples. KFA is fighting as hard as we can, but we need your help. Volunteer to speak out about fair healthcare, or make a donation to help us organize against healthcare discrimination.
