Sam Marcossen, fairness supporter and professor of law at the University of Louisville wrote this opinion piece for Sunday's Louisville Courier-Journal, dismissing the argument that fair healthcare violates Kentucky's constitution.
...the rights arising from domestic partnership status do not approximate marriage, thus the affidavit by which an employee enrolls for benefits does not create a status similar to marriage. There is no possibility that anyone could, or ever would, confuse the status of domestic partners under the University's plan with that of married couples under Kentucky law.
