Subject: Chandler spits on KY GLBT families
Rep. Ben Chandler was one of the few Democrats to vote today in SUPPORT for amending the US Constitution to ban same-sex marriage. I hope he doesn't run for Governor or any other office, because I cannot in good conscience vote for him. I really don't see how any self-respecting GLBT or progressive Kentuckian could. I urge others to support a better candidate or simply to not vote for people who would amend the US CONSTITUTION with such bigotry! There are some actions that are so extreme that they make a candidate impossible to support.
Hats off to the Republicans who again deftly used this wedge issue to break off parts of the Democratic base...and shame again on the Democrats like Chandler who fell for these hate politics.
As expected, all KY's other representatives (all Republican) voted to amend our Constitution with special rights.
